Published: December 04, 2017
Belgium captain Eden Hazard has edged out Nigeria Player of the Year Victor Moses to claim Chelsea Man of the Match award in their Premier League clash against Newcastle United on Saturday, December 2.
The attacking midfielder registered his name on the score-sheet twice against the Magpies, he equalized in the 21st minute before converting a second-half penalty awarded after Moses was fouled in the area.
Hazard earned more than three quarters of the 37,430 votes cast via Twitter to finish ahead of the Nigeria international, who received six percent.
Another scorer against Newcastle Alvaro Morata came in third with five percent and midfielder N'Golo Kante finished in fourth place with four percent of the Twitter votes.
Fit-again Victor Moses made his first start for Chelsea in seven weeks against Newcastle United having recovered from a hamstring problem that had kept him on the sidelines.
As a result of the ailment, the Blues number fifteen was not available for selection in ten straight matches for club and country.
