Arsenal Legend Ian Wright Blasts Iwobi After First-Half Display Vs Liverpool
Published: December 22, 2017
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has blasted Nigeria national-teamer Alex Iwobi after his shoddy performance in the first half of Arsenal's Premier League clash versus Liverpool on Friday night.
In truth, the Hale End Academy product gave the ball away too easily and had a pass completion rate of 69 percent.
In the second half, Iwobi was much better and provided the assist for Granit Xhaka to net the equalizer from outside the box.
In his half-time analysis, Ian Wright said in the Sky Sports Studios : ''I was worried about Xhaka in midfield. Xhaka and Jack are not natural holding midfielders.
''Iwobi and Sanchez very poor today. I will take Iwobi off, he's having a poor game.''
Iwobi was lucky to receive only a yellow card after a tactical foul in the 58th minute, when he pulled down Sadio Mane.
In the crazy game at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal star men Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Oezil also wrote their names on the score-sheet, while Philippe Coutinho, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino were on target for the visitors.
