Versatile Nigerian Defender Tipped To Sign New Deal At Arsenal
Published: December 24, 2017
Promising Nigerian defender Tobi Omole is being tipped to pen a new deal at Arsenal in the coming weeks.
Omole celebrated his eighteenth birthday last week, and is now eligible to pen a professional contract with the Gunners.
The youngster began training with the Emirates outfit at U14 level after he was spotted playing for Thamesmead, and is in the second year of his scholarship.
''Defender Tobi Omole can play at centre-back or left-back and has been on the fringes of the U23 squad this season, while he has figured prominently for the U18s,'' writes Arsenal youth-team expert Jeorge Bird.
''Omole should be able to cope with the step up to U23 level and it is anticipated that he will get a professional contract.''
Omole's pal Joseph Olowu recently signed his first professional contract with Arsenal.
This season, he has been involved in all the matches contested by Arsenal in the U18 Premier League, except the game against Leicester City when he was with the U23 team.
