Dutch Club De Graafschap Make Move For Leicester City's Nigerian Striker
Published: December 24, 2017
Dutch club De Graafschap are interested in signing very talented Leicester City Nigerian striker Layton Ndukwu in the January transfer window, as per reports.
According to gelderlander.nl, manager of the Eerste Divisie side Henk de Jong and technical manager Peter Hofstede spent last weekend in England to monitor Ndukwu.
Leicester City U23 were not involved in any competitive match last weekend but the teenager was in action for that age group against Tosin Kehinde's Manchester United in the Premier League 2 on Monday.
And three days ago, Ndukwu inspired Leicester City to a 7-1 thrashing of Barnsley in the Premier League Cup, scoring his side's fourth goal just before half-time.
The 19-year-old Ndukwu has caps for England at U16 and U17 level.
Retired Nigeria international Wasiu Taiwo, famous for scoring for the Super Eagles in the 1995 US Gold Cup, played for De Graafschap during the 1996-1997 season.
