Talented Nigerian Defender Scores For Norwich In Six-Goal Thriller FA Youth Cup
Published: January 13, 2018
Norwich City are into the last sixteen of the prestigious FA Youth Cup after digging deep in extra time to claim a 4-2 win over Derby County on Friday at Carrow Road.
Two players of Nigerian descent, Republic of Ireland U18 international Adam Idah and central defender Timi Odusina, started for the home team.
Morgan Whittaker gave Derby County an early lead in the fourth minute, but Alan Fleming equalized for Norwich City with a close range effort before Jayden Bogle scored a brilliant goal from a free-kick to restore the Rams advantage.
Kamal equalized from the spot in the 80th minute and took the game into extra-time.
Five minutes into extra-time, it was 3-2 Norwich as Timi Odusina scored from close-range after Derby County failed to clear their lines.
Idah was involved in the buildup to Norwich City's fourth goal scored by Anthony Syprou and the Nigerian striker would have made it five but his shot was saved by the goalkeeper.
In the next round, Norwich City will face either Newcastle United or Crystal Palace.
