Two Nigerian Whizkids Named In Updated Manchester United Premier League Squad
Published: February 03, 2018
Two players eligible to represent the Nigerian national teams have named in the updated Manchester United Premier League squad.
Manager Jose Mourinho will be able to call upon midfielder Tosin Kehinde and defender Matthew Olosunde if necessary, having added their names to the squad list sent to the Premier League earlier this week.
The two youngsters are classed as U21 players as they were born after 1 January 1996.
Everything is pointing to the fact they will make their competitive debuts for United sooner rather than later as they have trained with the first-team players this season.
Lagos-born Kehinde officially joined the Old Trafford outfit in the summer of 2014, while Olosunde was acquired from New York Red Bulls two years later.
Olosunde and Kehinde were shortlisted for Manchester United's Goal of the Month prize for April 2017 and September 2017 respectively.
No player of Nigerian descent has represented Manchester United in the English top-flight since Paul McGrath did so in the 1988-89 season.
