This Is The Reason Why Everton Loanee Was Almost Substituted After Coming On 78th Min
Published: February 05, 2018
Nigeria winger Ademola Lookman came off the bench to net the winner for RB Leipzig on his Bundesliga debut against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday.
RB Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhüttl has claimed that he was about substituting Lookman, who came on in the 78th minute, because he was wearing the wrong pair of boots and kept slipping.
''He was lucky I left him on," Hasenhüttl told Kicker post-match.
"He was losing his footing a lot. He wore (his boots) in training yesterday and was just sliding all over the place.
''He was slipping again today and I wanted to take him off just before he scored, but luckily we kept him out there! ''
Lookman, who won the World Cup with England U20s last summer, will remain on loan at RB Leipzig for the remainder of the season.
