Nigerian Striker, Who Scored 14 Goals In One Match, Debuts For Liverpool Against Arsenal
Published: February 08, 2018
English-born Nigerian striker Rinsola Babajide finally made her debut for Liverpool Ladies against Arsenal in a Women's Super League clash on Wednesday night, having joined the club on deadline day January 25.
The former Watford sensation came on for Kate Longhurst in the 80th minute of the clash at the Select Security Stadium.
Vivianne Miedema, Janssen and Lisa Evans wrote their names on the score-sheet for the Gunners and the Londoners are now just one point behind Liverpool in the standings following the win.
Babajide was disappointed not to win even though she admitted that she was delighted to wear a Liverpool jersey for the first time in her young career.
''Happy to have made my @LFCLadies debut tonight, disappointed about the result but I want to thank the fans today for the support ❤️🙏🏾,'' Babajide tweeted.
Babajide is an England U20 international and it is all but confirmed that she will display her wares at the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in France.
In 2016, Babajide dominated the headlines in Nigeria after netting fourteen goals while defending the colours of University of East London women’s football team against University College, London.
