England Youth-Teamer Of Nigerian Descent Named In Man City Provisional Squad Vs Arsenal
Published: February 24, 2018
England youth international Lukas Nmecha was in Manchester City's traveling party to London on Saturday ahead of tomorrow's Carabao Cup final against Arsenal.
The prolific youth-team striker was promoted to City's first-team squad by manager Pep Guardiola after the club missed out on the signature of Riyad Mahrez at the end of the January transfer window.
Manchester Evening News has reported that Lukas Nmecha was among the 25 players pictured as Guardiola took a large contingent to take the train down to the capital for tomorrow's game.
Central defender Tosin Adarabioyo has been omitted from the 18-man squad in the last three games in all competitions and this would increase to four by tomorrow as he was not sighted at the train station today before the trip to London.
Lukas Nmecha's only appearance for City's first-team to date was against Leicester City in the quarterfinals of the League Cup in December, before making the bench against the same opponents in the Premier League two weeks ago.
Young winger Aaron Eyoma trained with Arsenal's first-team this morning but this doesn't necessarily mean he'll make his first-team debut against the Citizens at Wembley.
Super Eagle Alex Iwobi is back in contention again to make the squad as he was sighted training at London Colney today.
