Manchester United Block Key Eagles Defender From Facing Club In Premier League
Published: March 02, 2018
Netherlands international of Ghanaian descent Tim Fosu-Mensah will not
figure for Crystal Palace when they host Manchester United in the
Premier League on Monday, March 5.
The defender joined the Eagles on a season-long loan deal in the summer transfer window in search of regular first-team football.
The Red Devils have confirmed via their official website that Fosu-Mensah is ineligible to face United due to the terms of his loan deal – which is undoubtedly a blow for Palace.
With Joel Ward in the treatment room, the Manchester United loanee has established himself as Crystal Palace's first choice right-back.
The 20-year-old has made 20 appearances in total in the English top-flight this season and was deployed as a central defender in his first five matches in the division.
Prior to joining the capital outfit on loan, the highly-rated youngster had played 21 games for Manchester United's first-team across all competitions.
