Conte Confirms : Ex-England U21 Star Of Nigerian Parentage Back In Chelsea Squad
Published: March 02, 2018
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has confirmed that winter signing Ross Barkley could return to action when his side face Manchester City in the Premier League in two days time.
The former England U21 star of Nigerian parentage has not featured for the Premier League champions since January 31 due to a hamstring complaint, however, the Italian manager confirmed that he's certain to make the provisional squad for the trip to M11 3FF.
''Ross Barkley trained with us this week and now he’s recovered from his injury,'' Conte told reporters at a press conference on Friday afternoon.
''He will come with us and then I will decide if I find a place on the bench for him, or if he will be in the stand for another week.''
Barkley has made three appearances in all competitions since his arrival at Chelsea in January 2018.
Wales young star Ethan Ampadu, David Luiz and Tiemoue Bakayoko are in the treatment room and the game against City has come too soon for the trio.
