Why Manchester United Full Back Has Been Forced To Return From Loan Spell
Published: March 06, 2018
The former England U20 international picked up a knee injury in Hearts's 1-1 draw against Ross County in February and was not in the 18 that faced Motherwell in the quarterfinals of the Scottish Cup last weekend.
Judging by Mitchell's post on social media, he could be out of action for several weeks and might not figure for Hearts again this season even though he has remained optimistic.
''Gutted to be out injured but going to do everything I can to get back before the end of the season!'' Mitchell tweeted on Tuesday evening.
''Hopefully get chance to put the maroon shirt back on a couple more times 🙏🏽💪🏽⚽️''
Manchester-born Mitchell has been on the books of United since 2007 when he was signed from Fletcher Moss Rangers Academy, rising through the ranks before making his first-team debut against Crystal Palace a year ago.
