Nigerian left-back Tolaji Bola was in action for Arsenal as they secured a key win over Chelsea in a Premier League 2 encounter at Colney Training Centre (Norfolk) on Saturday afternoon.
Whilst no player of Nigerian descent was selected by Chelsea's U23 manager Joe Edwards, Gunners boss Steve Gatting picked Bola and Xavier Amaechi in his match day squad.
Kyle Scott put the visitors ahead in the 14th minute, only for Edward Nketiah to equalize for Arsenal with a volley from close range six minutes later.
And it became 2-1 Arsenal on 32 minutes courtesy of Tyreece John-Jules' lovely back-heel goal.
Reiss Nelson scored directly from a free-kick to give the home team a two-goal advantage with 25 minutes left on the clock.
Tobi Omole, Joseph Olowu, Folarin Balogun and Aaron Eyoma are the other players of Nigerian descent that have represented Arsenal U23s in the Premier League 2 this term.
The Gunners return to action on April 6th against Liverpool, while Chelsea's next game after the international break is against Derby County.
