Nigerian Federation Hold Secret Talks With Chelsea Wonderkid Over Playing For Eagles
Published: March 28, 2018
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the Nigeria Football Federation held secret talks with an English-born Chelsea starlet over committing his international future to Nigeria ahead of his country of birth.
The player was sighted at the Super Eagles Crowne Plaza Hotel Ealing hotel this week before the national team's friendly with Serbia at the Hive Stadium.
The identity of the highly-rated player is being protected by this website as a result of the complications that arose after England U21 international Tammy Abraham's 'positive meeting' with NFF President Amaju Pinnick last year, only for him to be forced to reverse his decision when the news broke out.
At the moment, the player's international future lies with England's Young Lions but the Nigerian Federation feel they can persuade him to change his mind by playing the Ola Aina card.
Aina is set to represent the Super Eagles at the World Cup after turning out for England's U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 national teams.
Tariq Uwakwe, Faustino Anjorin, Fikayo Tomori, Ike Ugbo, Tyreece Walters and Jordan Aina are the players of Nigerian descent on the books of Chelsea yet to make their debuts for Nigeria.
Ade Akinjogbin, 18, bid farewell to the Premier League champions in the January transfer window.
