Chelsea Coach Conte Refuses To Blame Moses For Tottenham's First Goal
Published: April 01, 2018
Speaking to the national press in England after Chelsea's disappointing 3-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has refused to blame Victor Moses for one of the goals conceded by the home team.
The two teams were level at half-time. Tottenham's Christian Eriksen fired home a spectacular effort from 30 yards out after the Nigeria international gave the ball away in the build up to the goal.
Conte admitted post-match that the team made crucial mistakes for the two goals scored by Dele Alli in the second half, leaving out the error from the Nigeria winger in the first half.
''We played good football and should have been in 2 or 3-0. Instead this goal created a bit of problems in our mind. We lost a bit of confidence,'' Conte told reporters.
''We started the second half well, then we conceded a goal you can avoid. There was a through ball and I think we made a mistake in the third goal.
''Also if you have the right bat you kick it into the stands. But this season is going this way. ''
Moses has started eight of the last ten games played by Chelsea in the Premier League, the right wing-back was replaced by Olivier Giroud in the 81st minute in today's match at Stamford Bridge.
