Tosin Kehinde made an appearance off the bench as Manchester United U23s thrashed Sunderland in a Premier League 2 encounter at Old Trafford on Friday evening.
Before the game the Red Devils knew they had to beat the Black Cats to avoid the drop and Ricky Sbragia's side emphatically underlined their complete dominance of the game by scoring four goals without reply.
The highly rated striker Tahith Chong set United on their way in the 24th minute before turning provider for Dearnley to make it 2-0 a minute before half-time.
Boonen fired a low shot in to increase the lead on 55 minutes, Riley scored United's fourth goal on the hour mark.
The outcome of the game was already decided when Kehinde entered into the fray in the 67th minute for his 15th appearance of the season.
United States youth-teamer Matthew Olosunde was omitted from the 18-man squad, while Sunderland pair Joel Asoro and Josh Maja have been fully promoted to the first team and did not travel with the squad.
