Bursaspor Loanee Okoli Steals The Spotlight With First Professional Goal
Published: April 09, 2018
The 20-year-old defensive midfielder was unable to find the back of the net in his first three games for Celik Zenica, whom he joined in the January transfer window due to his lack of first-team opportunities in Turkey.
Goals from Stevo Nikolic and Nemanja Andjusic gave the visitors a 2-0 lead at the interval.
Okoli made it 3-0 in the 52nd minute before Stevo Nikolic bagged his brace in the 90th minute to seal a comprehensive win for Celik Zenica.
Including today's game, the Nigerian starlet has appeared in six matches in all competitions since signing his first professional contract in 2017 and two of those have been as a substitute.
Paschal Onyedika Okoli was promoted to Bursaspor's first team this season after impressing manager Paul Le Guen in pre-season.
He will remain on loan at Celik Zenica until the end of the 2017-2018 campaign.
