Hungbo One Of The Key Players As Eagles Clinch League Title
Published: April 15, 2018
Crystal Palace have clinched the U18 Professional Development League South title following their 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
Tariq Ossai and Joseph Hungbo, who were both named in the starting line-up against Nottingham Forest, Josh Ajayi and Will Ozono were all credited with appearances for the Eagles U18s in the league this season.
Perhaps, Hungbo was one of the most key members of the Palace U18 team that won the title, having scored 15 goals in 27 appearances.
The left winger or number ten has now added goalscoring to his game as he managed only one goal in 24 appearances for the U18s over the course of last season.
The 18-year-old has grown by leaps and bounds over the past year and has been tipped to make his first-team debut next season if he continues with his impressive form for the youth team.
Crystal Palace have offered Hungbo his first professional contract in their bid to ward off interest from Chelsea and Liverpool, who expressed interest in his signature.
Hungbo and his teammates will face either Bolton Wanderers, Leeds United or Nottingham Forest in the semifinals of the playoffs for the national title.
