Liverpool Loanee Awoniyi Claims He'll Return From Injury Before End Of Season
Published: April 19, 2018
Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi has exclusively revealed to allnigeriasoccer.com that he will be back to full fitness in two weeks after copping an injury which seemed to have ruined his chances of making the Super Eagles' squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
It was earlier suggested that the former Golden Eaglets striker will not turn out for Belgian First Division A side Royal Excel Mouscron again this season but the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner has expressed optimism that he will be alright in a fortnight.
"In two weeks, I will be fine by God's grace," Awoniyi told allnigeriasoccer.com on Thursday.
"I also saw the story regarding my injury but that's how life is.
"God alone writes one's final news, that's my belief. I shall be back soon doing what I know how to do best. Thank you for the regular checks, I appreciate.''
In the current season, Awoniyi has netted ten goals from 31 outings in all competitions, while registering 7 assists.
The 20-year-old was not in the Royal Excel Mouscron squad for their playoff games against Zulte Waregem and Waasl.-Beveren but could play their last three matches if his rehabilitation goes according to plan.
