Victor Moses Shines Again As Chelsea See Off Swansea City
Published: April 28, 2018
Cesc Fabregas's 50th Premier League goal was all Chelsea needed to keep their hopes of finishing in the top-four alive, following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday evening.
Nigerian international Victor Moses was handed his 26th league appearance for Chelsea in the game, starring from the off for the visitors.
It didn't take long for Antonio Conte's side to take the lead in South Wales though, with Eden Hazard leading the break away as early as the fourth minute to find Cesc Fabregas who bent a terrific finish past Lukasz Fabianski in the Swansea goal.
After a less eventful first half, Moses came so close to doubling Chelsea's lead in the 73rd minute, stretching to meet Fabregas' strike at goal but ended up knocking it inches beyond the near post.
Substitute Swansea striker, Tom Carroll would nearly grab a share of spoils for the Swans two minutes from time, beating Thibaut Courtois with his first-time shot though failing to get it on target as Chelsea weathered the storm en route to their 20th league victory while their opponents quest for topflight survival suffer another hit.
