Exclusive:JOSEPH ENAKARHIRE lost Energie Cottbus deal to PoliticsThe Nigeria international Joseph Enakarhire was not offered a deal due to politics by German Bundesliga II club Energie Cottbus, his German agent Sascha Günter has exclusively revealed to allnigeriasoccer.com.

'' Joseph did pretty well in the three days he trialed with Cottbus and the coach,Claus-Dieter Wollitz, wanted to sign him on sporting terms.

''However, the President of Cottbus(Ulrich Lepsch) vetoed the move by the coach because he wanted to give the local players in the club a chance.

''The club president also doubted that a player who had been out of action for close to two years could challenge the upcoming talents and other players who are returning from injury in the Cottbus squad, '' Sascha Günter , who also manages the in-form Nigeria striker Peter Utaka disclosed to allnigeriasoccer.com from Germany.

He added: ''It was a ridiculous decision by the club because Joseph proved that he was back to his best and back to full fitness.

''Despite impressing during the trials, it is astonishing that we couldn't get a contract because of political reasons.

'' If I must inform you, Energie Cottbus are known in Germany for not welcoming colored players with open arms.

''We thought it has changed but this recent decision proved otherwise because the coach wanted him badly.''

Enakarhire also trialed with OB Odense this summer but was not offered a deal by the club.
