Nigerian Striker Scores Impressive Brace For Manchester United On Return From Injury
Published: May 07, 2018
Young Nigerian striker Mipo Odubeko scored an impressive brace for Manchester United after returning from injury as their U15 team beat Birmingham City 5-3 on Monday.
The highly-rated teenager, who has been tipped to make his competitive debut for the U18s next season, had been on the sidelines for close to three months due to an undisclosed injury.
Having displayed his wares in last month's Singapore Professional Academies 7s, Shola Shoretire is back in England and was on target in the first half against the Young Blues.
Odubeko was not named in United's squad for the tournament plus the MIC-Mediterranean International Cup in March.
On Sunday, Nick Okoro, son of former Enugu Rangers player Ejikeme Fabian Okoro, was in action for Birmingham City U18s in their 2-1 win over Manchester United U17s and spent 30 minutes on the St. Andrew’s turf.
In other results in the Academy Stadium games U9-U16, United U13 team thrashed Birmingham City 6-3, while the U14 team beat the hosts 2-0.
