Man City Coach Guardiola Examines 18-Year-Old Nigerian Midfielder Ahead Of American Tour
Published: July 11, 2018
Three talented Nigerian players are presently training with Manchester City's first team ahead of the 2018-2019 season.
Photos published by City's official website confirm that Tosin Adarabioyo, Lukas Nmecha and very promising midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru were put through their paces by manager Pep Guardiola at City Football Academy on Tuesday.
Adarabioyo and Nmecha training with City's first team should not be news as they have been officially promoted to the squad, but Dele-Bashiru working out with the squad might suggest the Spaniard wants to scrutinize him before naming his roster for the tour of United States later this month.
Guardiola handed Dele-Bashiru his professional debut in City's League Cup clash against Leicester City in December 2017, when he was introduced in the 91st minute as replacement for Phil Foden.
Though the 18-year-old has represented England U16 team, the midfielder is a hard core Super Eagles fan.
Last season, he made 29 appearances for Manchester City's youth teams across all levels, including five matches in the UEFA Youth League.
