Nigeria U20 Star Promoted To First Team By Premier League Club
Published: July 28, 2018
Nigeria U20 international Nnamdi Ofoborh has been promoted to the first team by English Premier League side Bournemouth.
The official website of the Cherries has confirmed the first-team players' squad numbers for the 2018-2019 campaign; the central midfielder was listed in the group and handed the number 59 jersey.
Jordon Ibe, who wore the number 33 jersey last term, has been handed the vacant number ten shirt following the departure of Ivory Coast international Max Gradel to FC Toulouse.
Ofoborh was playing for Bournemouth's U18 team at the start of last season but has grown by leaps and bounds in the last seven months, penning his first professional contract and training with the first team several times.
The 18-year-old was training with the club's reserve team before he was told to link up with the first team on July 16 for the remainder of their training camp in La Manga.
The Flying Eagles star was on the substitutes bench for the Cherries recent pre-season games against Bristol City and Nottingham Forest.
