Arsenal Loanee Nwakali Bags Assist For Porto B In Eight-Goal Thriller
Published: August 06, 2018
Arsenal loanee Kelechi Nwakali bagged an assist for Porto B in their entertaining 5-3 win over Vitória de Guimarães B on Sunday at the Estádio Dr. Jorge Sampaio, their last friendly before the start of the new Segunda Liga season.
The former Nigeria U17 and U20 skipper will spend the forthcoming season on loan in Portugal as he is not yet eligible to be granted a work permit in England.
In the 36th minute, Rui Costa made it 2-1 to Porto B when he scored off an assist from Kelechi Nwakali, before he doubled the advantage two minutes later.
Irala (2) and Madi were the other scorers for Porto B, while Huan Huan (2) and Edmond were on target for Vitória de Guimarães B.
Both Kelechi Nwakali and ex-Golden Eaglets sensation Musa Yahaya were named in the starting line-up by the Porto B manager Rui Barros.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem was a non-playing substitute on Saturday as Porto's main team picked up their first silverware of this season after beating Desportivo Aves 3-1 in the Super Cup.
