Super Eagles Hopeful Akpom Poised For Champions League Debut, Makes PAOK 18
Published: August 08, 2018
Former Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom is poised to make his first ever appearance in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening at Stadio Toumbas (Thessaloníki).
The Hale End Academy product has been included on PAOK 18-man roster against Spartak Moscow.
This is the fourth time in his career that Akpom has made the match day squad for the Champions League, after he was not utilized off the bench against Galatasaray, Marseille and Olympiakos Piraeus during his time with Arsenal.
The Super Eagles hopeful has declared himself fit to face the Russian Premier League club after training with his new employer for three straight days.
Akpom posted on social media yesterday : ''Ready for our Champions League qualifier tomorrow #PAOKFCSM #UCL ⚽️ 🦅''.
The 22-year-old signed a three-year contract with PAOK last week and ended his 16-year association with Arsenal in the process.
