Official: Bristol City Sign Chelsea Defender On Loan
Published: August 09, 2018Through a statement on their official website, Bristol City have announced the signing of left-back Jay Dasilva on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
The 20-year-old has yet to make his first team debut for The Blues and spent time on loan at Charlton Athletic in 2017 and the whole of last season.
''I am very excited about what Jay will bring to the squad. He has already achieved a lot for such a young player and we believe in his ability to step up again in what is a tough and increasingly competitive league," Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson said.
Dasilva joined Chelsea in 2012 from Luton Town and has won the FA Youth Cup three times with the U18 team.
At international level, he played for England U16, U17 and U18 teams, and captained the Young Lions at the 2017 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
The defender is the eighth player signed by Bristol City in the summer transfer window.
