Leicester City's Ndidi Outshines Man Utd Goalscorers Pogba, Shaw In One Key Stat

Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi impressed despite Leicester City beginning the Premier League season with a 2-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Friday night.

The Red Devils scored early via a goal from France World Cup-winning midfielder Paul Pogba who converted a spot kick in the third minute and waited until the 83rd minute before Luke Shaw doubled their advantage.

Second half substitute Jamie Vardy was on target in the second minute of stoppage time to open his account for the new season.

According to the statisticians at Whoscored, Ndidi was the player with the most touches during the game of the 28 players that took to the pitch, having touched the ball 100 times.

The Foxes number 25 saw the ball more than Luke Shaw (99) and Paul Pogba (91) who finished second and third respectively.

Ndidi touched the ball 66 times more than Kelechi Iheanacho though the striker has been praised by Leicester City boss Claude Puel for his forward play especially in the first half.

In other stats, the former Racing Genk starlet won two aerial battles, had two shots of which one was on target, made one key pass and had 82.8 percent passing accuracy over the course of ninety minutes.
