Official: Super Eagles Striker Gbolahan Salami Joins Turkish Club Denizlispor
Published: August 20, 2018Turkish First League side Denizlispor have completed the signing of Nigeria national-teamer Gbolahan Salami.
The striker, who last played for Kazakh team FC Irtysh Pavlodar, will remain at Denizlispor until at least the end of the 2018-2019 season after putting pen to paper on a one-year deal.
Salami agreeing terms with Denizlispor has put an end to speculation about his future, having been linked with a transfer to Tunisian club Etoile Sportive du Sahel, who had offered him a three-year contract, only for him to pull out of the deal at the last minute.
He had previous stints at Sunshine Stars, Shooting Stars and Warri
Wolves before transferring to his first foreign club, KuPS in Finland,
in February 2016.
Salami is joining Denizlispor as a free agent following his release by FC Irtysh Pavlodar, for whom he scored 4 goals in 18 appearances.
The 27-year-old has not played for the senior national team since the appointment of manager Gernot Rohr in 2016.
