Tottenham Missed Out On Deadline Day Signing Of Chelsea's Nigerian Striker
Tottenham Hotspur missed out on the deadline day signing of Nigerian striker Tammy Abraham, according to reports.

claims that Tottenham had a £25 million ($32m) move for Tammy Abraham rejected by Chelsea on deadline day, August 9.

Abraham was interested in joining Spurs and would have been used as cover for England captain Harry Kane if the move had gone through.

The Nigeria Football Federation target has resumed full training with Chelsea first team after recovering from an injury that kept him out of the squad against Arsenal.

Abraham could yet depart Chelsea before the end of this month on a loan deal, with Aston Villa his most likely destination.

The 20-year-old has not figured for the Blues in the Premier League since May 2016 when he made two appearances against Liverpool and Leicester City, and has been farmed out on loan to Bristol City and Swansea City.

He is contracted to Chelsea until the end of the 2021-2022 season.
