Everton Star On The Cusp Of Breaking Nigerian Transfer Record? RB Leipzig Coach Has An Update
Published: August 27, 2018
RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick has not ruled out the possibility of signing Everton's Nigerian winger, Ademola Lookman following his latest comments.
All through the summer, the Toffees have resisted overtures from potential suitors for the signature of the highly-rated youngster, particularly with the German Bundesliga club interested in his services after impressing them in the second half of last season, with 5 goals and 4 assists in 11 matches.
"When you turn back time to the last day of the last transfer market, at 2pm we didn't even think about a loan of Ademola Lookman.
"It seemed impossible to get him. But four hours later we got the deal done. I said then that it wasn't a last-minute deal but a last-second deal.
"We don't plan to repeat this, because it was a very stressful situation for us. We'll just wait. When Everton wants to keep the player they will tell us. If not we'll see if there's a chance of still getting him."
The 20-year-old has yet to feature for the club in the Premier League this term and has been included in the matchday squad once, in the 2-1 win versus Southampton.

Die Roten Bullen have reportedly increased their offer for the player to £25 million though it is understood Everton will only be willing to do business in the excess of £28 million.
Assuming Everton do not shift their ground, Lookman will become the most expensive player of Nigerian descent in history, beating the record currently held by Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor, who joined Manchester City from Arsenal for a transfer fee of £26.10 million.
"We'll see. Let's just wait another week," Rangnick was quoted as saying by Sky Sports. "When you turn back time to the last day of the last transfer market, at 2pm we didn't even think about a loan of Ademola Lookman.
