Official: Croatian Club HNK Gorica Snap Up Super Eagles Defender
Through official channels, Croatian Prva HNL side HNK Gorica have announced the signing of Nigeria international Godfrey Oboabona.

Though the financial terms and duration of the contract have not been disclosed, it is understood that the central defender penned a one-year contract with last season's second-tier champions.

Oboabona is joining HNK Gorica as a free agent following his release by Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli and links up with Nigerian duo Musa Mohammed and Iyayi Atiemwen at the Velika Gorica-based side.

The 28-year-old was a member of the Super Eagles squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, playing all the six games in full, and has also represented the national team at the FIFA Confederations Cup and the World Cup.

A product of Sunshine Stars Akure, Oboabona started his career abroad with Rizespor in Turkey, scoring 5 goals ( 2 assists) in 114 games for the club before his departure in the summer of 2017.

His last match for Nigeria was in 2016 against Egypt.
