Chelsea have praised Nigerian defender, Fikayo Tomori, for his impressive performance against Blackburn Rovers on match day eight in the EFL Championship on Tuesday, September 18.
An England U21 international, Tomori has been loaned out to The Rams for the entirety of the season, his second loan spell after spending last season at Hull City.
The central defender has caught the eye in his last five matches in the division, helping goalkeeper Scott Carson to post a shutout in matches against Ipswich Town, Preston North End and most recently against Blackburn.
He also went the distance in both matches against Oldham Athletic and Hull City in the League Cup in which the goalkeepers did not concede.
In their most recent review of their loanees, Chelsea wrote on their official website : ''Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount started for Derby County as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Blackburn Rovers after dominating the game.
''Tomori produced a solid display at the heart of the back four, alongside Richard Keogh, and helped the home side keep a clean sheet against a Blackburn team which included Kasey Palmer, who played the opening 45 minutes.''
