The Team News From CD Leganes That Will Likely Disappoint Chelsea, Rohr & Nigeria Fans
Published: September 22, 2018
The waiting game continues for Chelsea loanee Kenneth Omeruo as he bids to become the 22nd youngest Nigerian player to debut in La Liga after he was left out of the match day squad against Eibar.
Leganes manager, Pellegrino, has called up 19 players for the game week five fixture at the Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa (Eibar) on Saturday, starting from 1515 hours.
The central defenders named on the roster are : Dimitris Siovas, Rodrigo Tarín and Unai Bustinza.
Chelsea will surely be worried about the situation of Omeruo at Leganes as they expect all their loanees to play on a regular basis, the reason they were loaned out to other teams in the first place.
This month, the central defender was in the 18 for the league matches with Real Madrid and Villarreal and wasn't considered for the games against Athletic and Real Sociedad in August.
Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr is expected to announce his squad list for the AFCON double-header against Libya after next weekend's matches and will be very bothered about the inactivity of his first choice central defenders against Seychelles, Leon Balogun and Omeruo.
Omeruo previously enjoyed loan spells at ADO Den Haag, Kasımpaşa, Alanyaspor and Middlesbrough.
