Undoubtedly, Nigeria's top teenager in England at the moment, Josh Maja, took his tally to eight goals from 11 matches after scoring in Sunderland's 2-2 draw with Peterborough United at the Stadium of Light.
The 19-year-old made no mistake from 16 yards out off an assist from Matthews in the 21st minute, he was later substituted in the 70th minute after Sunderland left back Oviedo was dismissed.
At Glanford Park, Joe Aribo was on the losing side as Charlton Athletic fell 5-3 to Funso Ojo's Scunthorpe United, with the central midfielder notching his second career brace.
The 22-year-old poked home from six yards to make it 2-1 Charlton on 22 minutes before scoring again in the 69th minute.
Last but not least, experienced and physical striker Adebayo Akinfenwa thumped home the equalizer after 55 minutes as Wycombe Wanderers played out a 1-1 draw with Fleetwood Town.
Bayo thought he had won the game for the visitors in the 75th minute but his effort was ruled out for offside. The 36-year-old has scored three goals in his last three games for Wycombe Wanderers.
