Nigerian Defender Rejoins Manchester United After Serious Knee Injury
Published: October 03, 2018Versatile Nigerian defender Matthew Olosunde is very close to making his comeback for Manchester United teams, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The United States U17 World Cup veteran, who played for his country of birth in Chile 2015, has not kicked a ball this season due to a knee injury and missed a large portion of pre-season training.
But there is good news as Olosunde caught a flight from the United States this morning to return back to Manchester.
The right-back remains eligible to represent the Nigerian National Team despite making his senior debut for the Americans in a friendly against Bolivia on May 28, 2018.
He joined Manchester United in January 2016 from New York Red Bulls and had been linked with a return to the Major League Soccer club in the summer transfer window.
Olosunde made United's provisional rosters for Premier League games against Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the tail end of the 2016-2017 season.
