Rising Star David Okereke Scores First-Ever Serie B Goal For Spezia
Published: October 07, 2018Promising Nigerian striker David Okereke scored his first-ever goal in the Italian Serie B as Spezia defeated Livorno 3-1 at Stadio Armando Picchi on Sunday afternoon.
The 21-year-old struck in the 11th minute to give the visitors a two-goal cushion after Crimi had put them in front.
The unselfish Okereke has been more of a provider this season, setting up goals in three games against Brescia, Hellas Verona and Carpi in the second-tier.
His best return of 5 goals in a single season was achieved in the second half of last season during his loan spell with Cosenza Calcio.
Spezia were pleased with how he developed while on loan at the Serie C club and offered him a fresh four-year contract in August 2018.
A product of Football College Abuja, Okereke racked up 30 appearances in the Serie B before opening his account for Spezia.
