Teenage Nigerian Defender Making A Name For Himself, Trains With Arsenal Stars Ozil, Bellerín
Published: October 17, 2018Nigerian teenager Tobi Omole is making a name for himself at Arsenal after signing his first professional contract with the North London club in August 2018.
With several first-teamers away on international duty with their respective nations, manager Unai Emery invited Omole to train with the first team at London Colney on Wednesday morning.
Some of the Arsenal stars in attendance at the workout includes : Héctor Bellerín, Laurent Koscielny, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Mesut özil, Nacho Monreal, Shkodran Mustafi and Sead Kolašinac.
Described as a versatile defender, Omole joined Arsenal's Hale End Academy in 2014 and rose through the ranks before he was promoted to the U23 side.
The 18-year-old netted his maiden goal for Arsenal U23 side in a 2-1 win at Leicester City in their last match before the second international break of the 2018-19 season.
Omole can be deployed as a left back, central defender and defensive midfielder.
