6 Goals In 6 Consecutive Games : 16-Year-old Nigerian Midfielder Scores Again For Chelsea Against Pros
Published: October 30, 2018
Nigerian midfielder Faustino Anjorin continued his exceptional performance this season by scoring for the sixth consecutive game as Chelsea hammered Plymouth Argyle 5-0 in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday evening.
The 16-year-old had netted against Swansea City U18, Brighton U18, West Ham U18, Molde U19 in the UEFA Youth League and Brighton U23 before today's game at Home Park.
Charlie Brown celebrated his new deal with Chelsea when he broke the deadlock in the 20th minute and the visitors extended their lead through a Songo'o own goal eight minutes before half-time.
Introduced in the 71st minute as replacement for McEachran, Anjorin had a hand in all the three goals scored by Chelsea in the second half, first providing a cross for Taylor-Crossdale to make it 3-0 in the 74th minute.
Anjorin scored Chelsea's fourth goal with four minutes left on the clock before setting up Dutch striker Redan in the 89th minute.
He is a first-year scholar at The Blues and everything is pointing to the fact that he will be rewarded with a professional contract when he clocks seventeen next month.
