'He’s Really Showing The Player That He Can Be' - Nigeria's No 1. Talent At Chelsea Academy Praised By Coach
Chelsea U21 manager Joe Edwards reserved special praise for unarguably the most talented Nigerian player at Chelsea Academy, Faustino Anjorin, following his man of the match performance in their 5-0 rout of Plymouth Argyle in a Checkatrade Trophy clash at Home Park on Tuesday evening.

The box-to-box midfielder came off the bench in the 71st minute to make a key impact, scoring one goal and providing the assists for the goals netted by Taylor-Crossdale and  Redan.

Anjorin found the net in every single game he played for Chelsea youth teams in October, scoring against Brighton U18, West Ham U18, Molde U19 in the UEFA Youth League, Brighton U23 and Plymouth Argyle.

''It’s been a fantastic week for Tino,'' Edwards told Chelsea's official website.

''He had a great pre-season with us, then went back and got his season going with the Under-18s but he’s rejoined us in the last 10 days and done extremely well.

''He scored a debut goal in the UEFA Youth League, then he scored a debut goal at the weekend in Premier League 2, and now he’s got a fantastic goal on his first appearance in the Checkatrade Trophy.

''He’s really showing the player that he can be.''

An England U18 international, Anjorin has been on the books of Chelsea for ten years and it is all but confirmed that he will be offered a professional contract when he clocks 17 in November.
