Rohr Knows Nine Of His Starters Vs RSA : Picks Ezenwa In Team A, Undecided Over Leicester's Iheanacho
Published: November 15, 2018
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has already made up his mind on at least nine of the players that will be named in the starting line-up for Saturday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Johannesburg, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.
The German football tactician intends to name majority of the players that started the wins against Libya last month in the match day five fixture vs Bafana Bafana.
However, there is a little bit of confusion over who will be in between the pipes.
Rohr initially named Chippa United's Daniel Akpeyi to be in goal for Team A before the start of Wednesday's practice game but changed his mind when the 11-a-side game started.
The three goalkeepers in camp were being put through their paces by the goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu and Rohr reversed his decision after the drills.
Ezenwa started for the Team A yesterday and in their last workout this morning, but Akpeyi went to join the Team A when they were practicing free-kicks.
Although Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho played for Team B on Wednesday, he was the only player asked to swap teams in their final workout before flying to Johannesburg.
