Iwobi Receives Rave Reviews In Arsenal's Win Over Bournemouth
Published: November 25, 2018Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi was once again rated as one of Arsenal's best performing players in the team's 2-1 away win against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.
Iwobi was replaced by Aaron Ramsey in the 82nd minute of the game in which he was instrumental in setting up the second Arsenal goal - finding Saed Kolasinac who in turn crossed the ball for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to convert from close range.
ESPN rated the Nigerian highly with a 7 out of 10.
"MF Alex Iwobi, 7 -- Improved massively after the break when he was Arsenal's most forceful player going forward.
"Great pass to send Kolasinac racing down the flank helped set up Arsenal's winner.
Football blog dedicated to Arsenal, Paininthearsenal.com gave Iwobi a 6.8/10 and wrote the following:
"Tried things, but few of those things came off. It was a really hit and miss day for the Nigerian.
"Combined well enough with Kolasinac, but never provided the same threat. The one thing that did come off, however, was the beautiful ball that set Kolasinac up for the goal. That alone buoyed his rating, but overall, was hoping he'd do more.
For www.mediareferee.com, Iwobi had a marvelous game especially for his impact in the winning goal.
"Alex Iwobi (7.5/10).
"Another good performance by the Nigerian. Showed some delightful touches and linked-up really well with his teammates; set up Aubameyang's goal with a perfect pass to Kolasinac."
Iwobi is expected to play some part in the team's Europa League game on Thursday, as well as their next two Premier League games against rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United on 2 and 5 December.
