Two players of Nigerian decent have been named to the Team of the Week Europe's Top Five Leagues (30th November to December 2, 2018).
Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and Hertha BSC's Jordan Torunarigha have been selected in the best rated XI from Europe’s top five leagues, comprising only of players aged 21 and under by Whoscored.
While the Nigeria international made a Premier League high eight tackles in the Foxes 2-0 win vs Watford, the Germany U21 star scored and assisted as Hertha BSC ran out 2-0 winners against Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga.
Ndidi had an 8.10 rating for his efforts and Jordan was the second best rated player at 9.10 behind Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele (9.20).
Other players named to the U21 Team of the Week are : Ionut Radu (Genoa), Faitout Maouassa (Nimes), Issa Diop (West Ham), Pedro Porro (Girona), Rodrigo Bentancur (Juventus), Oscar Rodriguez (Leganes), Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United).
On Ndidi, the football statistics website wrote : ''Leicester prolonged their unbeaten run with a 2-0 win over Watford at the weekend and Wilfred Ndidi excelled for the Foxes.
''The 21-year-old weighed in with eight tackles, the most in the Premier League this weekend, and also made three interceptions and five clearances. Ndidi also won three aerial duels in a dominant midfield performance.''
Explaining Jordan's choice, the editors stated : ''Jordan Torunarigha scored his first goal of the season in Hertha Berlin’s 2-0 win away to Hannover on Saturday.
''The 21-year-old also provided the assist for Hertha’s other goal to cap off a fantastic individual performance. He also made five clearances and two tackles to help the Bundesliga side keep a clean sheet.''
