Nigerian Winger Becomes Eligible To Pen New Deal With Manchester United
Published: December 07, 2018
Talented Nigerian youngster Deji Sotona is now eligible to pen a new deal with Premier League giants Manchester United, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
A Republic of Ireland youth-teamer, the winger is celebrating his sixteenth birthday today, meaning United have to make a decision whether to offer him a two-year scholarship ahead of next season or end their association with the player.
However, everything is pointing to the fact that the Red Devils would love to retain his services as he has impressed for their U16 team this season.
Should he remain with Manchester United, he would be promoted to their U18 team for the 2019-2020 campaign.
Sotona began his career with Mullingar Athletic AFC at the age of eight
before he was snapped up by Manchester United and rose through the
ranks before eventually playing for the Red Devils U16 squad.
He scored in his first start for Republic of Ireland U15s in a 1-1 draw vs Netherlands in February 2017.
