Alex Iwobi has revealed that he almost joined London side Crystal Palace as a teenager.
About six years ago, the Arsenal winger spoke to several clubs, not limited to Palace, Celtic and Southampton, with a view to joining any of the sides as he was not sure of the Gunners offering him a scholarship.
"I felt that maybe I wasn't rated at Arsenal but I always felt at home here, so I signed the scholarship forms," Iwobi was quoted as saying by Evening Standard
"Then it was all about proving people wrong."
Iwobi made his first team debut for Arsenal in a League Cup clash against Sheffield Wednesday in October 2015 and has 117 appearances to his name to date.
