Rangers' Nigerian Whizkid Mebude May Get Rival From Chelsea
Rangers striker of Nigerian descent Dapo Mebude may get a rival who is currently on the books of Chelsea ahead of the start of next season, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Sottish Premiership side have handed a trial to Blues youngster Nathan Young-Coombes with a view to signing him on a permanent transfer in the coming months.

An England youth international, Young-Coombes came off the bench in the 66th minute as Rangers U20s came from two goals to beat Rapid Vienna 4-2 on Thursday afternoon, a game in which Mebude impressed especially in the first half.

Young-Coombes training with Rangers might suggest that he has not been offered a scholarship deal by Chelsea for the 2019-2020 season or he has decided to move onto pastures new.

Mebude is one of the most exciting talents at Rangers and was registered on their Player List B for this season's Europa League.

Eligible for Scotland and Nigeria, the 17-year-old penned his first professional contract with Rangers in May 2017.
