Charlton Athletic's Joe Aribo Faces Extended Spell On The Sidelines
Published: December 27, 2018Charlton Athletic star Joe Aribo faces an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury as the Addicks registered a 2-0 win against Gillingham on December 22.
The central midfielder was not available for selection in the loss to Coventry City on Boxing Day and manager Lee Bowyer has shed more light on the severity of his injury.
''It’s hard. We’ve got to play again in three days’ time. Joe Aribo is a big loss. He’ll be out for a little while,'' said Bowyer to Charlton's official website.
''We never pick up a week-long injury, they’re always longer term and Joe is looking no different.''
Signed from Staines Town in 2015, Aribo has played 80 games in all competitions for Charlton, scoring 11 goals.
Several Premier League and European teams are believed to be monitoring his situation as his contract expires at the end of the season.
