On-Loan Chelsea Striker Not Returning To Stamford Bridge In January, Sarri Confirms
Published: January 02, 2019
Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham is not returning to Stamford Bridge this month, according to manager Maurizio Sarri.
The Blues are facing an attacking injury crisis with France international Olivier Giroud picking up an ankle injury in the win at Palace while wingers Pedro and Callum Hudson-Odoi are struggling to overcome hamstring problems.
In addition, the future of Victor Moses is up in the air, with the Nigerian yet to figure for Chelsea in the Premier League for more than three months.
Questioned by reporters if he would consider recalling Abraham or Batshuayi back, Sarri answered : ''No, because I have the option with Hazard in this position.
''We have Morata and Hazard can play very well in this position as we have seen in the last two, three matches, so I think that in the moment I don’t need another striker.

''Maybe another winger, because now we are in trouble with the injuries of Pedro, of Odoi, Loftus, so I have the option and what an option for the striker, but at the moment I have no option for the wingers.''
Wolverhampton Wanderers, Huddersfield Town, Crystal Palace and Burnley are among the Premier League clubs credited with an interest in Abraham in the January transfer window.
