Crystal Palace Boss Confirms Dominic Solanke Deal Is Dead In The Water
Published: January 03, 2019
Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has confirmed that the Eagles are no longer interested in signing England U21 star of Nigerian descent Dominic Solanke in the January transfer window.
The out of favour Liverpool starlet was heavily linked with a switch to Selhurst Park and reportedly underwent a medical examination but an apparent last-minute decision by Palace chiefs saw the club pull the plug on the deal.
Hodgson spoke to reporters following his side's 2-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday.
Asked to comment on Solanke's proposed move to Palace and if the deal was dead, he replied : ''Yes, it seems to be. Unfortunately it is a club decision.
''We were interested of course. We think he is a good player. But it turns out there were complications, a lot of factors involved in it, and the club decided it wasn’t the right moment for us to be doing it.

''I do feel a bit disappointed for the player, because he had made his mind up in our favour, so it looked as though it was going to work out, but it didn’t work out in the end.''
Crystal Palace had earlier secured a clear lead to sign Solanke ahead of his other suitors not limited to Huddersfield Town and Brighton.
