Liverpool's Nigerian Midfielder Joins Reading Subject To Medical
Published: January 07, 2019
EFL Championship club Reading are on the verge of announcing the capture of former Nigeria U17 invitee Ovie Ejaria, according to reports.
The Sun is reporting that Ejaria, 21, is undergoing a medical at Reading today ahead of a loan move for the rest of the season.
The central midfielder began his career with Scottish Premiership giants Rangers on a high note, helping them qualify for
the group stage of the Europa League but had to return to his parent club in December as he became unsettled.
This would be the third time Ejaria would be loaned out by Liverpool since his arrival at Anfield in the summer of 2014 as he spent the second half of last season on loan at Sunderland.
If there are no last-minute hiccups, the England U20 World Cup-winning midfielder will become the third player of Nigerian descent born in London on the books of The Royals, joining Sone Aluko and Tiago Ilori.
A product of Arsenal, Ejaria has recorded eight appearances for Liverpool's first team.
